I am an award winning film and theatre director and writer based in Bristol- the city where I grew up. I trained on the Bristol Old Vic's 'Made in Bristol' scheme where I co-founded 'The Wardrobe Ensemble' - a theatre company commited to making devised, ensemble-based theatre. I have dedicated the past 13 years to making theatre for all ages with a particular focus on devised work and new writing.
My theatre directing credits include, Education Education, Education (Royal and Derngate, Trafalgar Studios), The Star Seekers (National Theatre) and Pippi Longstocking (Royal and Derngate).
I have also worked as dramaturg, associate and assistant director on various productions, including Witness for the Prosecution which has been running for over 5 years at London County Hall and Olivier award winning Hey Duggee The Live Theatre Show.
I am passionate about film as a visual medium and have made several short films off of my own back. My first short, KIN, is about 2 brothers growing up in the care system in Britain, it had its overseas premiere at Palm Springs International Film Festival and an extensive festival run, including Underwire and an out-of- competition screening at Encounters. My second short, MY MAMA, A MAN, a film about my mum and the drag king community, was an official selection for BFI Flare London LGBTIQ+ film festival. I have also directed a trio of music videos for singer/songwriter Sam Brookes, a dance film with Tim Lytc and an original movement film, BREADLINE, which was commissioned by the BBC. I currently have a number of film and television projects in development.
